The Sword and The Dagger of the Jhereg, aka
Norathar e'Lanya and Cawti.

This would be circa Yendi. (These girls belong to Steven Brust's Jhereg series, read it or they'll find you.)

Gray is so damned hard to work with as the main color! But hopefully, some of the "hidden" treasures show through in this image.

Thanks. ^.^
I dont know what you are talking about with the gray being hard to work with. You did a wonderous job. Great pic!
Trying to shade gray. Having lots of shades of gray to make it not overwhelmed or become one tone. Or underwhelm. Or overdo. Or underdo. Or clash. (It can, really.)

....The only color Jheregs wear is gray. So, one has to be creative to make the clothes be that shade and make it "work".

Thanks!!:)

Two things. The Jhereg colours are black and grey, not just grey. And wearing clothing entirely in your house colours is not required. The impression I've gotten is that if you want to indicate your house by clothing, you just need to show enough of the colours to get the point across, though going all out isn't unusual. And if you don't feel like wearing your house colours, you don't have to. Daro for instance got away with dressing in Lyorn colours, to many people's confusion. There are also plenty of examples in the books of guessing at house from facial features, which would imply that the person being scrutinized is not wearing identifiable house colours.

Otherwise, cool picture.
