Now! All of the fans of the "Jhereg" (Vlad Taltos Series) will get to know what their favorite House's animal representation looks like, as well as what the House stands for!

This is the "Sanctioned" and "Canonical" Cycle of Rulership, as per Steven K.Z. Brust's interpretation. It will appear in the novel to come, Jhegaala, in solid black and white, in place of the current Cycle Poem. (He hates that poem, and has for 25 years...) This was requested by the author, (said to be "impossible") and I jumped at the chance. And what an honor it was! My favorite author ask me to draw things for my favorite series?

...Duh.;)

This has been my project since June. Each of those 17 little Houses had to be designed and agreed on (so that's what HE says they look like, people...this was all chosen by Brust), then the style of placement and wording. I plan to upload all of the versions so that you can see the "evolution". Maybe in my scraps.

This image is being posted with permission from Tor (Patrick!) and Steven Brust (Author!).

EDIT: The online shop that sells "Brust Merchandise" that bears an image very similar to this "Cycle", ...I have NO affiliation with, nor does Brust give any clearance to the images aside from allowing Fan-Art from the shop's owner to be posted there for sale, with her profits going to him.

The "Cycle" version, and sundry "House Representations" contained therein, in that shop, is NOT my work, and I gave no permissions for its use, nor did I assist in their creation, nor did Brust.

Hey people!

This is MY daughter who did this very cool thing. Yeah, my kid (well, 30 year old kid) did this awesomely cool thing and is the FIRST in our family to get anything published in mainstream books.

Mom and step-dad Bruce are really, really, really jazzed about seeing this. We've been hearing about it for months and we could not even talk about it until now.

Buy the books, buy the swag, it's all going to be great! I've read a few of the Brust's books, way back when, but I've not kept up with it with school. I WILL be buying these and getting autographs (maybe from Brust and Silver).

This is fantastic baby, I love it.

Yay!! I'm so excited for you!! These are awesome! My favorites are the Hawk and the Dragon, and the Athyra. You did an awesome job with the Jhegaala... metomorphosis is a really hard thing to represent with just animals.

I'm so happy you got it finished finally and we can talk about it finally and you're so happy with it! Woot!
:iconmizkit:
That's gorgeous. Well done. :)

Wow! I've been curious for years about what some of those animals look like! That's some really great work you've done. And congrats on getting to collaborate with such an awesome author, it must have been a blast!
